It is not Jeko who came to painting. Rather, painting came to him. He has always had his hands in pencils. It is with innocence that he scribbles on pieces of paper without goal or precise form of aestheticism. Jéko’s work overflows with imagination and productivity. This goes back to his childhood, when he was confronted with all the graffiti along the road and on his street. All these demarcations fascinated him to the point that today they still accompany them.

He is a self-taught painter who discovered himself. Facing the support, brushes in the hand, he lets it express itself for him. Thanks to the painting that he practices, he has leaned towards the history of art and to know the painters as well as their paintings. “What touches me the most and what appeals to me first is the colors and shapes. He paints what comes into his head, quite simply. It must be seen as an impulse, a desire, a thought that is transcribed in his painting. If one word could define his style: Spontaneity. Follow his instinct, let his mind express itself, this is the motto of Jéko and this is how he produces his works.  “What counts for me is the passion in the moment, the oblivion and the moment.”
